Special Guest Spotlight on MANU CURE October 2022

This month, we are very pleased to welcome Manu Cure, who was one of our July 2022 winners

We hope you enjoy her take on our October Main Challenge and do please visit her social links which are listed in her Artist Bio.

Artist Bio

I started scrapbooking in 2010. My main projects were pages, layouts with pictures of my two kids. Now, they are teenagers and they don't let me take picture of them anymore! In addition, the pandemic shutdown in March 2020 changed my vision of scrapbooking. I really needed to create and express myself. That's why I found art journaling. I went from three or four creations of art journal pages to more than a hundred since the first shutdown. I love to explore and use different mediums. It's a therapy for me after a long day or a hard week of work. I like a phenomenal amount of designers and artists who inspire me and teach me their knowledge. Sometimes my style is colorful, sometimes it's vintage and sometimes it's simple or complicated but I always have joy and fun when I crafting. You can now join me on my instagram at manu_curett

Manu's Interpretation of our October Main Challenge

Manu says:  Strange in my head instantly made me think about Deb Weier's wonky face!
Inky for me is definitely this mixture of colors applied from sprays that flow and give us an unusual diffusion of new colors.

My challenge was to realize a fusion of this colorful background  with the muted colors of the wonky face. That's why I put some scraps of paper under my subject.

What I liked about this challenge was to create a background with sprays, a medium that can't be controlled. I'm pretty happy about the result. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful journal spread with us Manu!  We hope Manu's beautiful work inspires you to enter the October challenge!

Here's a reminder of our current Main Challenge:
