February 2018 Mini Challenge - TRUE

Hello everyone! We hope that you are enjoying your month of February so far!
It is not over yet as we have a brand new Mini Challenge to reveal to you today.
We thought we would reveal it a couple days earlier to allow you
a full week to participate since February is a short month.
We hope that you will all take the time to join in!
Here's how it works:

The Mini Challenge runs on the last week of each month and is for:
cards, tags, ATCs and postcards only.

ATCs, or Artist Trading Cards, are small works of art, about 2.5 by 3.5 inches
or 64 x 89 mm. Postcards are usually an A6 size, which is a quarter
 of an A4 ie, around 4 x 6 inches or 105mm x 148mm. If your postcard
is bulky, you could always pop it in an envelope to mail it.

This challenge requires you to use a specific word on your project.
We must see the actual word
You have only one week - until the last day of the month - to enter, so be quick!

Entry for the Mini Challenge is only
via our Facebook page under the relevant post.

The winner, as voted by our DT, will receive a $25 USD value prize
from THE DUSTY ATTIC, our fabulous Mini Challenge sponsor!

You can see all our rules under the RULES tab above.

Is this word inspiring you to make a mini creation? We sure hope so!

Now that you've seen this fabulous inspiration from our DT,
we really hope that you will join us for our mini challenge!

We are looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

You have until 11:59 pm EST on Wednesday, February 28th
to share your entry right HERE on our Facebook page.

Here is a reminder of our February Main Challenge
followed by projects designed by 5 fabulous 7 Dots Studio designers:

Tusia: Everyone would like to believe that romantic love lasts FOREVER. Unfortunately, most often, it doesn't. But we can do our best to be friends with the one we love now. Friendship is such a strong bond and a friend is a treasure to be cherished. Most happy couples I know are not only lovers, but best friends too. Maybe this is the recipe for a forever happy relationship. I added a couple chipboard HEARTS to my layout for the creative challenge.

You can see a video of Tusia's creative process below.

Tusia used papers, elements stickers, tags, chipboard and a stencil

Juliya: The word FOREVER inspired me to scrap with a photo of Autumn. This has always been my favorite season and I wait for it with anticipation every year. It brings that FOREVER constant peaceful feeling in my heart. I incorporated the creative challenge by adding a HEART that I made from book pages.

Juliya used papers from the Paint Chip collection 6x6 paper pad as well as these pretty clear stamps from the Paint Chip and Hazy Days lines, perfect for any mixed media project. Find them HERE along with lots of other 7 Dots Studio stamps.

Karolina: As much as love often takes our breath away, it also gives us wings so that we can fly, side by side, through life. When I think of our love, I feel strength and know that it will be FOREVER. Love also inspired me to think of HEARTS and pastel colours. That's why I chose this gorgeous paper from the Northern Lights collection.

This is the stunning Northern Lights collection used by Karolina on her canvas.

Ola: This month's challenge inspired me to scrap this photo of me with my beloved husband. We have been together already for 12 years. I really believe that we are true soulmates and that our love is FOREVER. That is why I created a big HEART around our photo. To create this layout, I combined a few papers and tags from all my favorite collections by 7 Dots Studio.

Some of the collections found on Ola's layout are Writer's Block, Yuletide, Homegrown and Verano Azul along with this Paint Chip Hatched Stencil.

Olya: The challenge word this month inspired me to create a canvas about memories. Each of us keeps memories in our heart, as if locked behind a closed door. They are FOREVER ours. For the creative Challenge, I added a metal HEART with beads and gems inside to represent the gentle and fluttering feelings of a woman who was once loved and remembered.

Along with papers from the Writer's Block and Homegrown collections,
Olya used Element Stickers from the classic and vintage North Country.

February 2018 Main Challenge

February, the month of LOVE... and we know that
you are going to love the challenge we have in store for you!

2018 started off with a fun celebration of our 2nd anniversary
and we are thrilled at all your beautiful birthday-inspired projects.
Thank you so much for celebrating with us and inspiring us to keep
inspiring you with our challenges month after month.
We are looking forward to seeing your February creations!

Here is our February Main Challenge:
Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Make sure to carefully read our instructions below.

Word Inspiration - FOREVER
Creative Challenge - HEART

What does the word FOREVER inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it.  Since words are an integral part of our challenges, we want to know how this month's word stimulated your creative process, so please do explain in your blog post how it inspired you!

Love is one of the most popular scrapbooking themes of all times,
so we decided to dedicate this month's challenge to love.
And nothing says love better than hearts. So the creative challenge
is easy - add at least one HEART to your project.

To be eligible to win, you have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge,
the word inspiration and the creative challenge. When judging, priority will be given to projects that clearly show our challenge word inspiration.

You must also include our board image as well as a link to our blog in your entry post. AND you may combine our challenge with no more than 2 other challenges.

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our amazing DT have come up with !

Aga: I have something colourful for you today! I have painted flowers and added some pictures of me and my husband. We are always together, we always smile and we are FOREVER happy. I wanted to express the atmosphere of our love and friendship in this layout. I added a large watercoloured HEART on the base of my page as well as smaller white ones.

Torsa: Whenever I think about FOREVER, the first thing that comes to mind is getting married with my high school friend and 18 years of togetherness! And still, I cherish every moment of it. For the HEART creative challenge, I have used
heart frames on my project.

Anat: I put a different twist on this month's challenge. The Beatles are FOREVER! Their music something that goes beyond age and generation. I have loved them since my childhood and I know that most of us do. I've chosen this iconic photo of the band that will be remembered forever and ever. I incorporated the creative challenge by adding one die-cut HEART.

Valerie: For this month's challenge, I used a die cut word FOREVER as a title because I will love my children forever. I created a HEART with watercolour leaves and I added the piece on my background to make it the center element of the page.

France: This month's word inspired me to create this page of me and my husband. With the years, we change, we grow, we face challenges, but I know I'll be able to count on him FOREVER. He's my rock, and together we can take on the world. I integrated the HEART creative challenge by playing with a stencil
and adding some flair with hearts on it.

Heike: There is nothing better than following the heart, and if the way is decorated with hearts, then it is twice as nice. 32 years together is something to be proud of and a little closer to FOREVER. So the HEARTS in the background stand for my love for my husband and the title shows me the way.

Anguree: February is always a very special month for me. FOREVER is a reminder that on February 14, 2004, my words to this handsome man was 'I do'. This year, we celebrate 14 years of marriage and 18 years of love and companionship. To this day, my answer is still 'Yes, I will love you forever more'. For the creative challenge, I included the word HEART in each of my journalling phrases. I coupled it with little pink hearts in the 3 main embellishment clusters.

Sivan: For me, FOREVER makes me think of my husband, my best friend. So my inspiration from the challenge was to design a canvas with a picture from our wedding day. This is the first time I've scrapbooked any of these pictures, and it's been over 7 years... so it was time! I have added many small HEARTS of love and can only wish myself that this friendship will last forever!

Asia: To me, the word FOREVER will always be an integral part of a true love story. Being in a relationship needs a lot of work and effort from both sides, but if two people are willing to do their best, forever is something truly achievable. I incorporated the creative challenge by stamping lots of cute
little HEARTS on my background.

Rosalie: I love this photo of my husband Mark and myself as it shows the comfortable feeling of being together; our time is FOREVER with each other. It has wonderful deep bright colours and inspired me to do a layout that featured the colours in both our clothing and the background. I added HEARTS in between the flowers. I wanted to create a bright happy that reflected our mood in the photo.

Caroline: I chose to illustrate this challenge with a picture I took at my niece and nephew's wedding a couple of years ago (which is also the photo used in our board this month). FOREVER is the perfect word to name their love story. I used our inspiration word also as the title. And for our creative twist, I had some gorgeous twig HEARTS that fit perfectly with this layout.

Nicole: At first, when seeing this challenge, I was inspired to do a romantic layout, but then I thought why not give it a different spin. I therefore used this darling photo of my niece and used the word FOREVER in my title. I love this girl so much and I do wish her nothing but happiness for her entire life! For the creative challenge, not only have I used the word in my title also, but I added lots of HEARTS throughout my page, all colours and all shapes.

Heather: To me, family is FOREVER. Our little family will always be united even when we are miles apart. I added HEART balloons using the same paper that I created for the background and I painted tiny hearts all over the page. A hand-made arrow tethers the large hearts to the page.

Mary: The word FOREVER always brings to mind a true love story. So this month I was inspired to create a romantic layout with a gorgeous wedding photo. I used the inspired word in my title, and for the creative challenge, I added
two metal HEARTS in my clusters.

Daisy: In doing this challenge, I remembered how lucky I was to meet this wonderful man with whom I share many common points. I really like this picture of the 2 of us because it shows well what we are for each other. We are not just a couple; we are also best friends. I chose the title FOREVER because my love for him only grows with the years we spend together. For the creative challenge,
I added many HEARTS on my background.

Martina: I was inspired to create this layout with me and my hubby. I haven't actually made one with the two of us before. I can only pray that our love will last FOREVER. The numbers 7 and 6 that are hidden in the layout are actually our wedding date. And of course I used HEARTS for the creative challenge.
Where there is love, there will be hearts!

Janice: This month I was inspired me to scrap this gorgeous photo of Sarah & Callum taken on their wedding day 27 months ago. School sweethearts and now newlyweds, they have so much love for each other. Our wish for them is to be blessed with lots of love, happiness, good times, good health, and as the years pass, that they grow even more in love and will be, as my title says, 'Together FOREVER'. For the creative challenge, I have added chipboard and rub-on HEARTS in the clusters.
