Here is a reminder of our October Main Challenge.

Word Inspiration - NIGHT
Creative Challenge - NO FLOWERS

Here is Mogi-Art's interpretation of our challenge:
MogiArt: Hi, I am from Ukraine, and today I am happy to inspire you to participate in More Than Word's October challenge. The NIGHT is a time of wonder and magic. While we all sleep, fairies scatter magic dust, and wizards light the stars . The moon keeps a close eye on all this. This canvas that I made as a guest designer reflects my vision of the night's magic.

A big THANK YOU to Mogi-Art for joining us as our
October Special Guest!

We hope that Mogi-Art's's beautiful project inspires you to join us

OCTOBER 2020 2nd Reveal of Main Challenge - NIGHT & NO FLOWERS

Welcome back to the 2nd Reveal of our OCTOBER Main Challenge
at More Than Words!

It's all about the beauty of the NIGHT and NO FLOWERS!

Our Main Challenge is based upon a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration:  NIGHT
Creative Challenge:  NO FLOWERS

HELPFUL TIPS FOR THE CHALLENGE

We want to know what you get up to when the sun goes down!  Do you go out partying at NIGHT, gaze at the stars, go to concerts or maybe go camping? Or if you like being tucked up at home with wine and Netflix, then we want to hear about that too! We need to see in your project how our word inspired you.  If it isn't obvious in your work, then please explain it in your post.

Many flowers close their petals at night, so we want to see NO FLOWERS on your project. Is this easy or difficult for you?

Heikes: For this challenge I had the perfect paper in my stash. "Under the stars" from 13arts. I wrote the word NIGHT on my background. For the creative challenge NO FLOWERS, well that wasn't that difficult for me as I'm not the biggest flower user anyway. On the photo is my daughter with her best friends. My inspiration explanation: There are two types of people. There are the early risers, the so-called lark birds, and there are the late risers, the so-called owls. I belong more to the lark birds.  That means that I can see little of the summer night sky because I am mostly asleep. Only in the Autumn months I can see something of the night sky, and that's always something very special. I love the clear autumn starry nights, it gives me a taste of the festive season before christmas.

Anastasia: My layout for the October challenge is very monochrome and laconic. I was inspired by our last trip to the mountains and the incredible NIGHT sky that we saw there. Every night, out comes these envoys of beauty, and they light the universe with their admonishing smile! Their beauty requires NO FLOWERS.

Jolande: The NIGHT slowly turns into the day. The FLOWERS are NOT welcome on this early morning.

Yulia: For the October challenge, I made a page in my artbook. NIGHT is the time to dream, walk, look at the stars, and of course make wishes! And I love to watch films with my husband at night))) In my artbook, I did NOT use FLOWERS, only paints, sprays and a chipboard.

Cecilia: One of the most peaceful moments is watching the stars at NIGHT. It is wonderful to imagine everything that is out there! My journal page needed NO FLOWERS!
Sarah: When I read the challenge word inspiration "NIGHT", I immediately thought of this outing we had with my son in Paris. It was an exhibition in the garden of plants. There were animals made of light in the garden. It was necessary to visit in the night time in order to be able to see their beauty fully and admire everything. This photo captured the wonder my son felt when he saw all the sculptures of light. For me the NIGHT is the moment when there is magic, dreams can begin, and NO FLOWERS are needed in order to see beauty.

Heather: I wanted to make an art journal page for this. I found this quote and it was perfect! It says, "NIGHT is to see the dreams and day is to make them true". There was conflicting advice online as to who coined this so my apologies to the author! I added some text in the corner saying "This is me to a 'T'" as I always do my best thinking and planning at night. It was easy to use NO FLOWERS on this - just lots of stars and night sky!

MOGIART (entry #36)
We love Margrite's beautiful imagery and the words that she used to describe her project. We all related to her simple pleasures of snuggling up with a good book and a hot glass of tea, stopping occasionally to look out the window to observe nature in all it's fall splendor.

Margrite, please contact Janene: janene(at)49andmarket(dot)com to claim your $25 USD value prize from
49 AND MARKET. Please note that with the worldwide issues of Covid-19, there may be a delay in being able to contact 49 And Market and/or in receiving your prize.

PIIA HILTUNEN (entry #64)
Piia's "books are mind seeds" title and vivid imagery caught our eye. The idea that words can plant seeds in the mind is something that we totally agree with. We loved the layers of texture Piia added to her project and felt the pop of bright green was refreshing.

Piia, please contact Karola: info(at)mintaypapers(dot)com
to claim your $25 USD value prize from MINTAY PAPERS. Please note that with the worldwide issues of Covid-19, there may be a delay in being able to contact Mintay Papers and/or in receiving your prize.

SPECIAL GUEST DESIGNER
(hand picked by our Admin team)

JONNA (entry #19)
Jonna's use of stamps and watercolor made a stunning background. We thought that incorporating the characters from her daughters' favorite Manga in her design really helped bring her work to life. We are so pleased that Jonna has agreed to be our November Guest Designer!

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
We want to give special recognition to MarielaPapeletas (entry #49) and her Facebook Group Peperina Scrap. Mariela and her talented group of artist friends have really inspired us this month with their thoughtful entries to our challenge. It is amazing to see a positive group of women supporting each other! Thank you ladies! We are looking forward to seeing what you come up with next month.
