July 2020 2nd Reveal of Main Challenge - GOODBYE and MONOCHROMATIC

Today we're sharing the 2nd Reveal of our June Main Challenge
from the Design Team.

Saying GOODBYE - sadness or new beginnings?
Share your perspective with us this month!!

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration - GOODBYE
Creative Challenge - MONOCHROMATIC

It can be sad to say GOODBYE to a loved one or a treasured pet, but goodbyes are a part of our lives. Or maybe you have happier reasons to say goodbye, like giving up smoking, weight loss, moving house, leaving school or a job or even farewelling someone going overseas. We need to see in your project how our word inspired you. If it isn’t obvious in your work, then please explain it in your post.

MONOCHROMATIC colours can be very symbolic and can portray strong emotions. Whatever you choose to create about, we want to see multiple shades of one colour or your project.

Please check out ALL our challenge rules in the RULES tab above
for further clarification.

Now let's see what our fabulous DT has come up with,
inspired by the GOODBYE and MONOCHROMATIC Main Challenge!

Lanusia: Travelling is my hobby and the opportunity to get more inspiration, have some rest, see something interesting and unusual.. Leaving each place I always say GOODBYE and wait for new trips. The world is so huge and my dream is to visit every corner of it.

Priya: Goodbyes are never easy and for our Word Inspiration I added the quote " GOODBYE hurts when the story is not finished and the book has been closed". For Creative Inspiration I chose Frozen Ice ( Teal) MONOCHROMATIC scheme in my project.

Anna: There is some beauty in the sadness, and there is some strength in the ability to say "GOODBYE". These were the first thoughts that came to my mind when I started working on our July challenge. My life is quite happy now and I didn't have to really say "Goodbye" to anyone recently, but in my art journal page I wanted to capture some of the "goodbyes" which happened in the past. I wanted it to be delicate, graceful, yet powerful. I think I managed to do that!

Daisy: In this photo, my son Damien is saying GOODBYE to elementary school. It will be in his graduation album. A new adventure in high school is beginning for him. His student journey has made me proud until now and I am confident that he will continue on this path. For the creative twist I used different blue tones of Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays.

Elle: So this AJ spread started with the drawing of the sad woman holding the cat and it was going to be a sad page.  However, as I was thinking about the word inspiration "Goodbye" and that she was probably saying goodbye, this song popped into my head "Say Goodbye" by the awesome Aussie band Hunters & Collectors. (I was a huge fan) So then it turned into a song inspired page, using some of the lyrics and some stills from the video - which also features a black cat!

Hema: I choose a tough color to work with as the theme was GOODBYE and this creates quite an emotion that we all find hard to bear. In any situation, bidding a farewell/goodbye is not so easy. This emotion is felt by everyone, and we go through this in every phase of life. These emotions remain for ever with us. I hope you gals will like this little journal page that I shared and the quote was handwritten. Thanks!!

Katrin: It was not easy for me to create this layout. Too many things have happened these days, all sad to say GOODBYE to. Some events that have happened, have made me understand one thing... we are more and more like machines, with less and less human emotions. A thought came to me in a Gibson book that reflected my thinking. I hope I did it justice.

Rosalie: My GOODBYE is to the summer months. As we move into the cooler months, I miss the the warmth of sitting outside under our patio having brunch and drinks. My MONOCHROME is the colour of the warmth of summer, the golden hue gives me a wonderful feeling of wellness. As we come out of winter, every day starts to feel warm again, the flowers bloom, there is a wonderful glow in the trees and I start to feel recharged again.
