April 2019 Main Challenge
BABY & PASTELS

Oh, we love the month of April here at More Than Words
and we know that you will love the challenge we have in store for you!

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration - BABY
Creative Challenge - PASTELS

What does the word BABY inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post
how it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

This month's word brings soft and sweet images to mind.
What better way to complement this than with PASTELS?
Pastels are delicate, gentle colours. Think pale pink, lulling lilac,
magic mint or baby blue... and create a subtle and soothing project.

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our fabulous DT has come up with
inspired by the BABY & PASTELS main challenge!

Hina: This month's challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to create one more layout with my BABY's picture. I have chosen PASTEL coloured paper with lavender, soft green and a white colour scheme.

Alicja: This project was a bit challenging for me and definitely out of my comfort zone. The word BABY inspired me to use a cute photo with delicate colours. I've created the wreath using my watercolour PASTEL leaves.

Jess: I decided to scrap my now 10 year old when he was a wee BABY, using lots of gorgeous PASTEL tones. I really enjoyed this challenge as I never use pastels and I was pleasantly surprised how much I love working with them.

Edith: Even if my daughter is now 10 years old, she will always remain my little BABY. I love her today as much as the first day that I met her. I had fun playing with soft pretty PASTEL colours to go with this challenge and my photo.

Nicole: The word BABY brings back to mind my nieces when they were babies,
so tiny and precious. This was Daphne who I can't believe is now 12 years old.
They grow up so fast so I am grateful to have pictures like this one
to help me reminisce. I loved creating this layout in lovely PASTELS
- purple, blue, green and pink - to match my niece's adorable dress.

Anat: I can't believe 12 years have passed since I took this photo of my BABY girl. She's so photogenic and I still take many pictures of her. However, when she was a baby, I used to take dozens of photos of her a day, wearing different hats and outfits, in all colours, including PASTELS. I know that I'm a proud mother
as she is truly my treasure!

Daisy: For this challenge I was inspired by this beautiful picture of my niece Lena when she was a BABY. I really like this picture because there's all the information about her birth. To achieve my creation I chose to use a PASTEL blue and white colour palette which gives it a very soft look, perfect for the theme.

Daria: I incorporated this month's word on my layout with this gorgeous BABY photo as well as adding it a the title of my work. I decided that the photo would look well with PASTEL pink and yellow.

Di: I was so inspired by this challenge as since I became a grandmother I just love doing BABY layouts. I especially love to create them in PASTELS as I am lucky to have lots of beautiful baby photos. I really enjoyed this challenge
and hope that you will too.

Nuneka: This month I've created this layout for the princess of the family, my sister's BABY daughter. She's only 6 months old and she already loves butterflies and rainbows. For that reason I incorporated both on my layout,
using PASTEL tones to surround her photo.

Rosalie: I have a beautiful picture of my granddaughter Amelia taken at her first Christmas. She is the most beautiful BABY to me. I have used soft blues and PASTELS for the background as well as butterfly embellishments.

France: Flowers on a BABY picture are so adorable especially when they are swaddled up cozy and sleeping peacefully. For this layout I played with soft pink PASTEL tones to match and highlight the flower in her hair. She is just beautiful.

Mary: 'Sweet Angel', as my title says, is what came to my mind when I saw this month's word inspiration BABY. So I decided to scrap a sweet little girl surrounded by flowers in lovely shades of PASTEL pink, peach and cream.

Priya: Holding a BABY in your arms is the most amazing feeling. They are so sweet and divine. This layout is for our niece who's just 3 months old. I used nothing but PASTELS to colour my page soft and delicate.

Caroline: For this month's challenge I used an old picture. This BABY is now a teenager of 15 years! It's hard to remember that he was so tiny, but I'm glad I have pictures like this one to remind me. I used PASTEL tones for my combo as well.
Pale colours are so perfect for toddler pictures.

Oooh, how soft and sweet are these projects from our fabulous DT!?
