I do not have an artist bio as such.  I post and create as @HartandArt in our local area where I present kids art play tables at markets and functions.

Q & A with Estelle

How long have you been art journaling?
I have been doing art journaling since late 2019.  After I ended up in hospital with a breakdown, I discovered art as part of my healing journey.

What is your favourite art journaling supply or product?
My favourite art journaling supply would be any old book, the older the better.

Are you inspired by a particular artist or artists, if so who?
I am inspired by a lot of different artists but find inspiration mostly in nature and everyday life.

What is your favourite colour palette to use?
My favourite colour palette is purple, magenta, and golden green.

Why do you enter art challenges?
I do not enter art challenges as a rule but when I do enter it is more because I want to share some words or inspiration than concentrating on the art itself.  I find that social media and the influence of likes or not receiving likes plays too big a role on how we view our creativity.  It is our journey, with our intentions and colours and feelings and we should not negate the value of what we have produced because of a lack of likes on fb.

Estelle's Interpretation of our May Main Challenge

My project for this challenge incorporates my favourite inspiration which is the ocean.  I find so much freedom, clarity, and insights when I listen to the ocean and spend time with my feet in the water.  The breaking of waves happens in a rhythm that is very similar to our restful heartbeat and acts as a great slower downer when things get crazy.  I tried to incorporate the motion and sound of the crashing waves' effect in balancing my internal world.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful journal spread with us Estelle!  We hope that Estelle's beautiful work inspires you to enter the Main Challenge this month.

Here's a reminder of our current Main Challenge:
