February 2019 Mini Challenge - LUCK

February is almost over, but not before we can have fun
and play together at a brand new Mini Challenge!
The Mini Challenge runs on the last week of each month and is for:
cards, tags, ATCs and postcards only.

ATCs, or Artist Trading Cards, are small works of art, about 2.5 by 3.5 inches
or 64 x 89 mm. Postcards are usually an A6 size, which is a quarter
 of an A4 ie, around 4 x 6 inches or 105mm x 148mm. If your postcard
is bulky, you could always pop it in an envelope to mail it.

This challenge requires you to use a specific word on your project.
We must see the actual word
You have only one week - until the last day of the month - to enter, so be quick!

Entry for the Mini Challenge is only
via our Facebook page under the relevant post.

The winner, as voted by our DT, will receive a $25 USD value prize
from THE DUSTY ATTIC, our fabulous Mini Challenge sponsor!

You can see all our rules under the RULES tab above.

Is this word inspiring you to make a mini creation? We sure hope so!

DAISY RAMSAY - card

HINA MIRZA - card

TORSA SAHA - card

We hope that you will have the time to play along
and we wish you all the best of LUCK!

You have until 11:59 pm EST on Thursday, February 28,
to share your entry on our Facebook page.

Special Guest Spotlight on
ESZTER GENCSI

We are pleased in 2019 to offer you a new twist on our
Special Guest post. Each month, we will choose a participant from our
main challenge whose work quality and interpretation of our challenge
made us absolutely want to see more and formerly introduce them to you!

So today, we happily feature one of our December Main Challenge entrants,
as our first GDT of 2019, our February Special Guest, EZSTER GENCSI.

Let's learn a little more about Eszter through her own words:

Hello everyone! I am very happy to be here today. I was very honored to be invited by this amazing team whose work I have been watching month by month and to which challenges I was always excited to play along.

My name is Eszter Gencsi, but my work is known as Scrap by Eszter. I live in Budapest, Hungary, with my husband and our 10 year old son. I was introduced to scrapbooking 10 years ago, and my favorite technique today is mixed media. This technique woke up the artist in my soul forever. I have loved it for the last 3 years and I have been creating with it ever since. My favorite form of papercrafting are layouts. My favorite colours are pink, gold, green, turquoise and brown.

You can visit Eszter at the following links:
BLOG  -  INSTAGRAM  -  YOUTUBE  -  FACEBOOK

Here is a reminder of our February ALWAYS & QUOTE Main Challenge
followed by Eszter's gorgeous project which was inspired by it.

Read below as Eszter describes in her own words how she was inspired
by our word and how she chose to incorporate our creative challenge:

The word inspired me to create a layout with a book theme. I wanted to outline by this creation that what you read is forever yours. I have always loved to read. There is so much knowledge and memories to gather through a good book and you will ALWAYS end up more fulfilled.

As for the creative challenge, instead of using a specific QUOTE on my page, I decided to add many quotes, not so specific, by adding book paper as part of my embellishments. I have also incorporated a quote handwritten, slipped behind the photo on the left.

Let's take a look at some details:

WOW! What a stunning page that Eszter has created!
Her layering and use of so many beautiful embellishments to frame the gorgeous image makes this layout a true masterpiece, perfect for our challenge.

A big THANK YOU to Eszter for joining us
as our February Special Guest!

We hope that you will take inspiration from Eszter's creation
and that you will play along with our February Main Challenge.

You have until February 28 to link up!

February 2019 Main Challenge
ALWAYS & QUOTE

Welcome to the month of February and to all of you
who have been waiting for a brand new Main Challenge
here at More Than Words!

We will not make you wait any longer...
Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration - ALWAYS
Creative Challenge - QUOTE

What does the word ALWAYS inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post how it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

Quotes are great to use on our projects. They can inspire us or reinforce a sentiment we want to express. Keeping our monthly word in mind, we want you to use a favorite QUOTE on your creation!

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our fabulous DT has come up with
inspired by the ALWAYS & QUOTE main challenge!

Daisy: My children are what I have most precious. My love for them is unconditional. We are very caring with each other and I love it. From day to day I love them more and more. I know I will ALWAYS love them, no matter what happens. For the QUOTE challenge, I used stickers from Les Créations Edith Cloutier as they expressed very well what I meant for this page.

Nicole: This month's word inspired me to create a layout of my boyfriend and I. Love is by far my favorite scrapbooking theme and I hope to ALWAYS have pictures of us like this one to create with. For the creative challenge I used a QUOTE from one of my favorite books by Khalil Gibran, The Prophet. These beautiful words are definitely what my partner and I strive for in our relationship.

Caroline: This man is the man of my life. I wish that we will ALWAYS be together. We went through ups and downs in the last 17 years, but love has always been true and strong between us. For the QUOTE I used some sticker
phrases that were perfect to tell our story.

Torsa: I ALWAYS believe nothing is permanent in my life except the bond between me and my husband. I want to be with him until my last breath and want to enjoy each and every moment with him. I have added my favorite QUOTE in my journal.

Anat: The QUOTE I've chosen is very important to me: "It ALWAYS seems impossible until it's done." In order to remember it, I decided to make a canvas which I can hang in my home. Looking forward to see you all play with us!

Di: The word ALWAYS reminded me about scrapbooking in general and how we are preserving our family memories forever, hence the little QUOTE I have used. I wanted to scrap this photo so it too would be preserved
as a wonderful memory captured.

Rosalie: My QUOTE is related to my belief that we ALWAYS need to take time to experience our world and how we travel through life.

Mary: "Hold on tight to your dreams" is one of my favorite QUOTES and this challenge inspired me to create a page about that. I believe that we should never give up on our dreams. We owe it to ourselves to hold on to them tight... ALWAYS.

France: I am enjoying creating some layouts of my friend's daughter as she is just adorable. For a little girl I love this QUOTE that I found: "Be your own kind of beautiful." It's such a powerful sentiment. I had in my stash the word ALWAYS as a die and it's a favorite of mine to use. I hope you enjoy my take
on this challenge and join in on the fun.

Alicja: I was inspired by the R.W. Emerson QUOTE: "Nature always wears the colors of the spirit." I used it as the title of my layout. I love using natural elements in my projects and this theme is ALWAYS close to my heart.

Daria: It seems to me important to ALWAYS be yourself. To express this, I used the QUOTE : "Close your eyes, open your mind, spread your wings and jump."
I think these words should resonate in each of us.

Edith: When I think about the word ALWAYS, I think about the love that unites us, my husband and I. He is my soulmate and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. The QUOTE that I used illustrates our relationship very well. Perfect love does not exist, but love does not have to be perfect. It just needs to be true.

Hina: The word ALWAYS inspired me to create a Winter layout. Like the seasons always change, take a lesson from them and be ready for the changes in life and the challenges thereon. Like the QUOTE on my pages says, "be open
to whatever comes next... let it snow."

Jess: The word ALWAYS was my inspiration to scrap my fabulous hubby as he is the love of my life. I used the QUOTE 'You will forever be my always' to stay true
to the word and theme of this challenge.

Nuneka: Being a positive person is a choice we make. We have that option every morning when we wake up and I ALWAYS take it. I always believe that something wonderful is about to happen, as my QUOTE says.

Priya: You ALWAYS need a friend who makes you happy. I was inspired by the word to create a layout on friendship. For the creative challenge, I added the QUOTE: "Good times and crazy friends make the best memories."
